Taper Thread Grease Fittings are used on cars, trucks and many types of industrial machinery. It is recommended that SAE-LT taper threads (Society of Automotive Engineers Lubrication Threads) be installed into straight holes with a 1/4''-28 UNF-3B straight-threaded hole. The included angle of the thread for a 1/4"-28 taper thread grease zerk is 60º. Taper thread grease fittings include a dirt-excluding ball check. Taper thread grease fittings are also referred to as taper thread zerk fittings, taper thread grease zerks, or a taper thread zerk. Several sizes available in both Stainless Steel and Monel.

Straight Thread Grease Fittings are for cars, trucks and a variety of industrial machines. 1/4"-28 straight thread grease fittings are commonly referred to as 1/4"-28 UNF-2A grease fittings, or 1/4"-28 UNF parallel threaded grease fittings.

1/8"-27 PTF Pipe Thread Grease Fittings have 27 threads per inch. PTF fittings are sometimes generically referred to as 1/8" NPT, and may be threaded into NPT or NPTF threaded holes. Thread sealant is recommended for use with NPT threaded holes. The large and strong threads on 1/8"-27 PTF pipe thread grease fittings are suited for industrial use.

1/4" Pipe Thread Grease Fittings are used for heavy industrial equipment and large bearings, especially recommended where heavy lubricants are used. 1/4" pipe thread grease fittings have 18 threads per inch.

Thread Forming Grease Fittings also referred to as spin drive grease fittings are used to save tapping cost and have special tapered drive threads that reshape the material in an untapped hole to provide a leakproof seal. Spinning these fittings into an untapped hole provides the most effective installation, but they may also be driven directly into an untapped hole. Thread Forming Fittings may be replaced by standard fittings that have the same thread size.

Drive Type Grease Fittings are designed for fast production line installation in untapped holes to avoid thread tapping costs. The hole size and shank dimensions are for reference use only. Test applications should be conducted to determine the correct hole size, which varies depending on the type and hardness of the metal. Drive Type Grease Fittings have a serrated shank, which facilitates the substitution of damaged grease fittings in old or oversize holes. Although drive fittings grip securely, they are recommended for low and medium pressures. Drive fitting tools are recommended to ease installation and prevent damage. Metric Grease Fittings are available in both regular and stainless steel. Metric Grease Fittings are also referred to as Metric Zerk Fittings, Metric Lubrication Fittings, Metric Hydraulic Fittings, and Metric Zerks. Monel Grease Fittings withstand the most severe corrosive environments. Monel is a nickel/copper alloy that is highly resistant to corrosion. Monel grease fittings offer greater corrosion resistance than stainless steel. Monel grease fittings are also referred to as Monel zerk fittings, Monel lubrication fittings, or a Monel zerk.

Button Head Grease Fittings consist of Standard Button Head Grease Fittings, Giant Button Head Grease Fittings, and Metric Button Head Grease Fittings. Button Head Grease Fittings are designed for high volume flow of lubricant and provide a smooth working surface for easy coupler engagement & removal. Button Head Grease Fittings are referred to as Button Head Zerk Fittings, Button Head Grease Zerks, Button Head Lubrication Fittings, or Button Head Grease Nipples.

Pressure Relief Grease Fittings are commonly used on gear box housings and bearings, (such as king pins, universal joints, etc.), where excessive lubricant pressures are not desirable. These safety valves open at pre-determined pressures shown in the table below and can be used with either oil or grease. Pressure Relief Grease Fittings are also referred to as Pressure Relief Zerk Fittings, Pressure Relief Lubrication Fittings, and Pressure Relief Grease Zerks.

Flush Type Grease Fittings are for installation where protruding fittings won't work. Flush fittings sit flush or countersunk, and are not damaged easily. Flush Type Grease Fittings are referred to as Midget Grease Fittings, Flush Zerk Fittings, Flush Type Grease Zerks, Flush Type Drive Fittings or Flush Type Press-In Fittings. Leakproof Grease Fittings are a special purpose grease fitting for use in applications where a positive seal is essential. Leakproof Grease Fittings are referred to as Leakproof Zerk Fittings, Leakproof Grease Zerks or Leakproof Lubrication Fittings. With the exception of part H-200-1634 and H-200-1634-B all Leakproof Grease Fittings feature a Buna-N seal. Recommended Accessory: Grease Fitting Caps

Air Vent Grease Fittings are used on differentials, transmissions, and gear boxes. Vent fittings allow air to escape and enter as the internal pressure increases or decreases. The cap on Air Vent Grease Fittings prevent water or dirt from entering. Vent fittings must be installed above normal level of lubricant to allow air to escape when pressure rises. Air Vent Grease Fittings are also referred to as Air Vent Zerk Fittings, Air Vent Lubrication Fittings, Air Vent Grease Zerks, or Atmospheric Vents. OPENING PRESSURE NOTE: 1" of water = .03613 psi.

Special Thread Grease Fittings are available with special threads and sizes for special lubrication requirements. Special thread grease fittings are designed to fit into corresponding straight threaded holes.
